If you are, you'll notice that most interviews are online — using Zoom, Teams, and other platforms. Virtual interviews It's can be both convenient and time efficient, even if we feel a little uncomfortable communicating to a computer screen..

Here are some tips to help you be at your best during your interview:

Tip #1

Make sure that the background that people see looks corporate or looks inviting, not like your kitchen or your bedroom.

Think about what is behind you: is there a painting that’s pleasant, are there some flowers, is there a bookcase? Try to have something that enhances you and that looks like the job that you're going for.

Tip #2

Dress professionally. Make sure that you look like the job you're interviewing for through your dress and your hairstyle so that people can visualize you in the job that you want.

Tip #3

Practice looking at the camera and talking comfortably and naturally to the camera, even though it's a square or a little dot on your screen. You can do it if you practice out loud.
